Covid 19 update: The Welsh Government will allow self-catering holiday accommodation to open from 13 July, so we are taking bookings now.
We will only take payments just before or on arrival, so that you won't lose out if you have to cancel or if travel restrictions will be back.
Dove Cottage is a fully self-contained cottage, so it is very easy to keep a social distance. We will do our best to clean and disinfect thoroughly, and will provide hand sanitiser. To be able to clean more thoroughly we will leave one day between departures and arrivals this summer. The minimum number of nights for which we accept bookings is 3.
Dove Cottage is part of our farm, and opposite our own house. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with full-size bunk beds. A large living room contains a kitchen area and a woodburning stove. The cottage is furnished simply and equipped with the necessities but no luxuries. No dishwasher and no hot tub, sorry! There are games, books and local information. There is a shower room and you can use a utility area with a washing machine. Relax in the small private garden behind the cottage.
We are located only one mile off the main road, but the further you go on this single track lane the more romantic it gets. Overhanging trees, ferns and wild flowers line this lane, and remind you that you are in a beautiful natural environment. Enjoy the peace and quiet down here, no television to distract you and a very poor mobile phone reception. If you do need to contact the wider world then our local pub has free wifi and is only a mile away.
We invite you to share the beautiful place with us, use the outdoor space, walk around the fields or just sit outside watching the wildlife. At night the owls hoot and in the summer you can see the bats hunting insects at dusk. Learn as much as you like about organic farming, our sheep, the goats, the chickens and the place. We offer wool craft activities for adults and children. We normally have eggs for sale, and we can get local organic produce for you.
The cottage has got solar water heating and benefits from our solar PV system. When the sun doesn't shine we buy electricity from Good Energy - 100% renewable energy.
